국내 최초로 공동 주택 에너지 자립화를 목표로 건립된 건축환경 연구센터 ECO House에서는 기존 3L house의 기술력에 태양열, 지열, 풍력 등 신 재생 에너지 기술을 도입하여 저 에너지의 수준을 뛰어넘어 제로 에너지의 주거공간을 만들기 위해 지금도 끊임 없는 연구와 개발을 거듭하고 있습니다.

기술개발원의 환경실험실은 다양한 수질 측정 장비(TOC, GC, UV, HPLC 등) 및 막 분석 장비(FT-IR 등) 보유하여, 하수처리/정수 처리/해수담수화 분야 등 다양한 물 관련 기술 개발을 수행 하며, 환경 현장에서 발생되는 문제에 대응하여 기술적인 해결 방안을 도출하는 연구가 진행 되고 있습니다.
기술개발원은 하수분야에서 세계 최초로 가압식 막여과 방식을 이용한 MBR(Membrane Bio Reactor) 공정 e-Tris II 및 정수분야에서 부지 면적을 30% 이상 축소할 수 있으며 건설비 및 운영비도 각각 10%이상 절감할 수 있는 공정 Dual Membrane Filtration System 신기술의 인·검증을 획득 하는 등 고효율 친환경 기술을 개발 하고 있습니다.
